METO STATION – Červená hora
Červená hora (749 m) is located in the central part of Nízké Jeseník near the highest mountain Slunečná. Nearby are the towns of Moravský Beroun and Budišov nad Budišovka. This Červená hora, known mainly from the radio reports of the meteorological station “Červená u Libavé”. Red Mountain witnessed many events, some of which influenced the course of our history. SLATE MUSEUM – history of local mining
TThe municipal museum in Budišov nad Budišovka was founded in 1996. The dilapidated building of the former baroque mill was transformed into a municipal museum to store its collections. Since its inception, the main theme of the exhibition has been slate and the slate industry. Since its inception, the exhibit has documented the mining of slate using tools. Samples of various minerals, slate products, historical documentation and photographs are available. More information can be found HERE.
HALAŠKA – observation tower in Krajina břidlice
The Kopřivná (Halaška) observatory near Budišov nad Budišovka was named in honor of František Ignác Kassián Halaška, a physicist and astronomer born in Budišov. This uniquely named tower stands at a height of approximately 33 meters. Viewing platform, accessible by 153 steps of a spiral staircase made of steel grates. The height is 28 meters. Breathtaking panoramic views open from this vantage point. You can see not only the nearby volcanoes, but also the Bruntál Highlands in the northwestern part of Nízké Jeseník. Dominants are Červená hora, Malý and Velký Roudný, Slunečná and the entire Military Training Area Libavá. More information can be found HERE.
ODRA RIVER – European race in Podlesí
Řeka Odra originates in the Oderské vrchy Mountains within the military area (correctly referred to as a military training area) of Libavá, approximately 1 km west of the village of Kozlov. A red-marked tourist trail of the Czech Tourist Club (KČT) leads to it from there. The Czech stretch of the Odra River comprises two morphologically distinct sections. In its source area within the Nízký Jeseník Mountains, it takes the form of a rapid mountain stream, flowing through a deep, forested valley with a narrow riverbed. The Odra River continues through the Libavá Military Training Area near Podlesí, approximately 15-20 km from its source. More information can be found HERE.
